Welcome

84th Annual Cinco De Mayo Festival at Olvera Street

Cinco De Mayo Festival will be held at the La Placita Olvera / Olvera Street Plaza in Los Angeles, California. L.A.'s Cinco De Mayo Festival is dedicated to promoting Latino culture, arts, education, economic and intercultural partnerships. Marking victory at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, Cinco de Mayo is broadly recognized as a celebration of Mexican culture and tradition.

El Pueblo Park Association was founded in 1982 to foster public interest in and good will for El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument; and to broaden its use as an educational and cultural facility.

La Placita Olvera / Olvera Street Plaza, is known as 'the birthplace of Los Angeles' recreated in 1930 to preserve and present the customs and trades of early California. A romantic 'Old Los Angeles' brick-lined marketplace with museums, vendors, cafes, restaurants and gift shops. Many of the merchants on Olvera Street today are descended from the original vendors.
